Since I was a little child I always wondered why organisms were doing certain things, why they were using certain behaviors and how did they learn how to do what they do. In order to answer those questions I started reading a lot of books concerning biology and ecology, and my interests increased in high school were exactly those subjects became my favorite ones. When the time came to choose a University I started looking for one which took those topics in consideration, and eventually I ended up in HZ University of Applied Sciences in Vlissingen, NL, were ecology, sustainable development, aquatic biology and environmental chemistry are combined in such a nice way that increase my interest for ecology even more.
When I had to decide where to do my internship, I asked for advice to my Aquatic Ecology teacher and one of the options that he offered me was the World Fish Migration Foundation; I went through the projects in which the members were involved and I got very motivated by their principles and very interested in knowing more about the projects. So here I am, doing my third year internship in this nice and friendly foundation.
