Pao Fernández Garrido studied Forestry Engineering in the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain) and did her Master’s in Ecosystems Restoration in the Complutense, Polytechnic, Alcalá de Henares and Rey Juan Carlos I universities (Spain). She had the great opportunity to do her master’s practicum in S.O. Conte Anadromous Research Center (Turners Falls, MA, USA) on fishway evaluation with PIT and Radio telemetry studies. She has studied several courses on fishway design in Spain and US West and East coasts. Pao has also had the privilege to collaborate in Princeton Hydro LLC (NJ, USA) working on dam removal projects and fishway designs. In 2013 she started working as a fishway designer and later she combined it working for Wanningen Water Consult as the World Fish Migration Day events’ coordinator. Now she has the honor to work since its very beginning for the Fish Migration Foundation.
